Privacy Policy, Save My Clips

✓ Short version: Save My Clips has nothing to leak. We don't require an account, we don't store the URLs you paste, we don't keep copies of files you download, and we don't track you across the web. The only data we briefly process is what's strictly required to fetch the video you asked for.

1. Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what data Save My Clips, a free online Snapchat Video Downloader, handles when you use the site at savemyclips.com. It applies to all visitors and to every download you start.

2. What we don't collect

To keep things simple, here is the long list of things Save My Clips does not collect, request or store:

Your name, email address or any other contact information.
A Snapchat account, Snapchat password, or any social-login token.
A history of the URLs you paste or the videos you download.
Copies of the video files themselves, they stream straight through.
Persistent tracking identifiers, browser fingerprints or device IDs.
Payment information, the service is free, so we never ask.

3. What we briefly process

To actually fetch a Snapchat video we have to look at a few things, but only for the moments needed to complete your request:

The URL you paste. It is sent to our server, used once to fetch the Snapchat page and resolve the video source, then discarded. It is never written to a database.
Your IP address. Like every web server, ours sees the IP your request comes from. We use it transiently for rate limiting and abuse prevention, and we do not store it in any analytics profile tied to you.
Standard request headers (user-agent, language, etc.), used to decide whether to retry with a mobile user-agent and to return the right content type. These live in server memory for the duration of the request, no longer.

If a request fails to resolve, the server may temporarily save the page HTML it received from Snapchat to a local diagnostic file so we can debug why. That file lives only on our server, is overwritten on the next failed request, and contains no personal information about you, only the public Snapchat HTML.

4. Cookies & tracking

Save My Clips itself does not set any tracking, advertising or analytics cookies. The only browser storage we may use is strictly functional, e.g. to remember whether you've dismissed a cookie banner. See our Cookies notice for the full breakdown.

5. Advertising

The service is supported by a small number of banner advertisements served through reputable ad networks. Those networks may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We do not share your URL, IP or any personally identifying data with advertisers, and we do not allow advertisers to target you based on the videos you download.

6. Third parties

Save My Clips uses a minimal set of third-party services. Each one operates under its own privacy policy:

Snapchat / Snap Inc., our server fetches the public Snapchat page you ask about. Snap may log that request like any HTTP request to their CDN.
Hosting provider (Cloudflare), handles infrastructure-level logs (IP + timestamp + path), retained for operational and security purposes for a short, finite period.
Ad network(s), see "Advertising" above.
Font CDN (Google Fonts), used to deliver the typefaces this site uses. Google may receive your IP when fonts load.

7. Data retention

We retain no per-user data and no download history. Server-level logs (IP, timestamp, requested path) are kept by our hosting provider only as long as required for security and operations, then deleted. Diagnostic dumps of failed requests are overwritten on the next failure.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the service, including TLS encryption for every request, a restricted upstream allowlist for video streaming, and minimal data exposure by design. No system is 100% secure, but because we collect so little, there is very little for an attacker to steal.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights under laws such as the GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), LGPD (Brazil) and similar regimes. These typically include the right to access, correct, delete or restrict processing of personal data we hold about you.

Because Save My Clips maintains no user accounts and no per-user history, in most cases we simply have no personal data tied to you. If you believe we do, contact privacy@savemyclips.com and we will respond within 30 days.

10. Children's privacy

Save My Clips is not directed at children under 13 (or under the minimum digital-consent age in your country, whichever is higher). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the service in a way that needs attention, contact us.

11. International users

Save My Clips runs on Cloudflare's global edge network. By using the service you understand that any limited data we process may be handled in countries other than your own, under appropriate technical and legal safeguards.

12. Changes to this policy

If we update this Privacy Policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted on the homepage for at least 7 days.
